The Moscow Exchange plans to launch trading with new currencies, including the UAE dirham, Armenian dram and Uzbek Sumy, RBC reports.
This decision can be explained by a noticeable decrease in trading revolutions at the site due to the prohibitions of the Central Bank, the source of the publication noted.
According to sources, Mosbirzh, in particular, intends to launch trading by dirhams – the currency of the United Arab Emirates. It is also being discussed by the launch of trading by the Armenian drama and Uzbek Sum, one of the interlocutors of the publication indicated.
Currently, the ruble on the Moscow Bill can be exchanged for 10 foreign currencies: US dollar, euro, Turkish lyre, Hong Kong dollar, Belarusian ruble, Kazakh tenge, Swiss franc, British pound, Japanese Ien and Chinese Yuan.
The expansion of this list is a logical step, since the turnover of trading on the Moscow Exchange fell, the source of RBC noted. According to the estimates of the publication, the average daily bidding in a pair of the dollar -ruble in April 2022 amounted to 81.5 billion rubles – against 242.9 billion rubles for the same period of 2021.
