In Moscow, by the end of the year, they will decide on retaliatory measures for Kyiv, who introduced a visa regime for Russian citizens. This was stated by the director of the Second Department of the CIS countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexei Polishchuk, Russian media write.
“It is necessary, first of all, to be guided by the interests of Russia, our citizens, to take into account humanitarian considerations. Simple Ukrainians, including refugees who are looking for protection from Ukrainian nationalists, already experiencing huge difficulties. We also do not forget about family and other ties that unite our citizens. The decision should be made before the expiration of the agreement, taking into account all these circumstances, ”said the diplomat.
In his opinion, measures should not be mirror. Their options are now being worked out.
Recall that the initiative to introduce from July 1 the visa regime for Russian citizens President Vladimir Zelensky announced on June 17. On the same day, the decision to terminate the bilateral agreement on visa -free trips from 1997 was adopted by the government.
