Norway Ambassador was called to the Russian Foreign Ministry after the scandal with the consul of the Norwegian Consulate General in Murmansk. An application about this is published on the website of the Russian department.
“On August 4, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway Rune Resalend was called to the Russian Foreign Ministry, which was declared a decisive protest in connection with the unacceptable behavior of the Consul of the Consulate of the Consulate Elisabeth Ellingen in Murmansk,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said.
The reason was the “insulting Russophobic statements” of the consul at the hotel in Murmansk. The department emphasized that further stay of Ellingen in Russia is impossible.
Recall, on July 30, Russian media distributed a video of the scandalous behavior of the Norwegian consul Elisabeth Ellingen in one of the Murmansk hotels. She was offered to wait until the cleaning of the number ends. This outraged an employee of the Norwegian consulate, she began to swear loudly in English.
“I hate Russians! I am used to clean numbers, I am from Scandinavia. Not like some Russian woman who removes it like,” she said. This statement attracted the attention of law enforcement officers and outraged the Russian Foreign Ministry.
