Movement Of Ships Through Istanbul Strait Was Restored

The movement of ships in the Stambul Strait was restored in the North-South direction after an emergency with a Sredina tanker.

This is stated in the publication of the Main City Protection Department under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey (Kıyı Emniyeti Genel Müdürlüğüğ, KeGM) in x.

The movement of ships according to the Istanbul Strait as of 00.01 Monday hours was restored, the publication says.

It is reported that the Sredina tanker was safely towed to the trunks of the Turkel Demir, the operation was coordinated with the Istanbul Center for Movement Management.

The temporary stop of the passage through the strait in both directions KEGM reported on the night of August 25, at 22.40 local time.

It was noted that a tanker 171 m long, which was walking under the flag of Panama, was out of order due to engine malfunction.
