On the evening of December 29, information about the death of Elkhan Aleskerov, born in 1970, and Machids Assadova, born in 1977, in the house where they lived in the village of Mashtaga, were received in the Sabunchinsky district prosecutor’s office.
The joint statement of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan states that the prosecutor’s office and the police with the participation of the forensic expert examined the scene and the body, other necessary actions were carried out.

During the preliminary investigation, there were thorough suspicions that Elkhan Aleskerov, during a quarrel on the basis of personal attitude, deliberately killed his wife to Machid Asadov, using a piercing-cutting object, and then committed suicide, inflicting injuries to himself the same subject.
A criminal case was opened in the Sabunchinsky District Prosecutor’s Office under Articles 120.1 (intentional murder) and 125 (bringing to suicide).
