As a result of the joint actions of the employees of the Prosecutor General, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the penitentiary service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan, a particularly serious intentional murder committed several years ago was revealed.
The joint statement of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Internal Affairs states that on October 31, 2011, the bodies of Gurbanov Ilkin Samir Oglu (born in 1974) with traces of violence were discovered at the entrance of the NAZ in Baku. A criminal case was opened. However, due to the inability to establish a person (persons) who committed a crime, criminal proceedings were terminated.
After a repeated study of the criminal case, the investigative department of the Prosecutor General’s Office was resumed. As a result of the operational investigative measures, it was found that during the personal conflict on October 31, 2011 between Gurbanov and Firudin Mammadov, who were also relatives, Salahs Ahad, having entered into a preliminary conspiracy with Mamedov, at the direct instruction and with the assistance of the latter according to the latter Numerous stab wounds inflicted numerous stab wounds, as a result of which the man died.
It was also found that shortly after the murder, November 4 of that year, Firudin Mammadov committed suicide in a car in Baku.
August 24, 2022, Ahad Salakhov was detained and involved in the investigation as a suspect in a crime under Art. 120.2.5 (intentional murder committed by hiring) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
