The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (MUS) Kerim Khan requested an arrest of the head of the Military Administration of Myanmar, General Min Aun Khlin in connection with his crimes against Muslim-Rokhin.
The Khan’s written statement published on the Mus website says that the arrest request is related to crimes regarding acts of deportation and persecution, which are crimes against humanity.
Khan noted that after a comprehensive investigation, reasonable grounds appeared that Min Aun Halls was criminally responsible for the deportation and persecution of Muslims – Rochini from August 25 to December 31, 2017.
According to him, the crimes committed against Muslim-Rokhini were committed by the Myanmar army Tatmadau with the support of the National Police, Border Guards and civilians not from among Arakan Muslims.
“This is the first request for the arrest of a senior government official in Myanmar. Other requests (for arrest) will follow him,” he said.

Khan emphasized that the support of the Arakan Muslim community, the Bangladesh government and the independent mechanism of the United Nations (UN) investigation in Myanmar are very important for completing the investigation.
