Mysterious “Havansky Syndrome” from American diplomats in Berlin

Criminal Affairs Berlin is investigating cases of the so-called “Havansky syndrome” among the US Embassy in the capital of Germany, reports Spiegel magazine.

The publication noted that the above-mentioned department in August began an investigation into unknown persons on suspicion of grave injuries. The symptoms of “Havansky syndrome” were identified from several employees of the American Embassy in Berlin, Spiegel writes. The US government has transferred the German investigators information about what happened.

“Havana Syndrome” nicknamed a certain external impact, named as “acoustic attacks”, when more than 40 American diplomats were injured in Havana from November 2016. US authorities laid responsibility for these incidents.

In September 2017, States recalled 60% of employees of their embassy in Havana, and then demanded to reduce the number of Cuba diplomsses in Washington 15 people.

In subsequent years, there were reports that civil servants in a number of other countries were subjected to this impact. The director of the CIA William Burns acknowledged that the cause of the disadvantages called “Havansky Syndrome” was not yet established. Cuba, in turn, all charges rejects.
