The first pictures of lunar sunset made by the Blue Ghost (Blue Ghost) of the American aerospace company Firefly Aerospace.
were published.
At a press conference held at the Johnson space center, the Aeronautics and Space Space Research (NASA) in Houston, the public presented photographs taken by the Blue Ghost spacecraft on the Moon.
“These are the first pictures of the high resolution of sunset and the subsequent darkening of the horizon,” said the deputy administrator of the NASA for research and management of scientific missions Joel Kernes.
According to Kernes, the images that he called “beautiful and aesthetic” will soon be analyzed by specialists, compared with the available data and conclusions are proposed.
In two pictures, in which the Earth and Venus are also visible, a radiance is captured, spreading through the lunar horizon, when the sun enters about half the way.
These photos can give scientists more tips than existing data on the glow of the horizon of the moon, which in scientific circles is considered a “mysterious phenomenon”.
“The company is very proud that it managed to carry out the first fully successful commercial landing on the moon,” said Jason Kimde, chief executive director of Firefly Aerospace.

The Blue Ghost spacecraft was launched on January 15 from the Kennedy cosmodrome in Florida (USA) to collect dust and measure the surface of the moon.
On March 2, the spacecraft landed at the very northeastern end of the moon, delivering NASA scientific and technical equipment, including drills and vacuum cleaners.
