National Bank of Kyrgyzstan retained accounting rate at level of 13% 30 January

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan decided to maintain the accounting rate (key rate) at the level of 13 percent, said the official representative of the regulator of Aida Karabaeva.

According to her, the inflationary processes in Kyrgyzstan continue to slow down. In December 2023, an annual inflation rate amounted to 7.3 percent, in January 2024 – 5.9 percent.

“In the structure of inflation, there is a steady slowdown in prices for the food group of goods in annual terms from 15.8 percent in December 2022 to 1.9 percent in January 2024. At the same time, the prices of non -food goods and services demonstrate a slower decrease , reflecting partly the impact of administrative measures to revise the tariff policy on certain types of goods and services, ”she said.

Karabaeva noted that high activity remains in the economy of Kyrgyzstan, the growth rate of real GDP at the end of 2023 amounted to 6.2 percent due to the largest contribution of the services sector and manufacturing
