NATO members on the eve of the Summit of the Russian Federation-USA can oppose the alliance in Europe of ground-based nuclear missiles, reports Edition Defense News with reference to sources.
“NATO allies are preparing to officially oppose the alliance of land-based nuclear missiles in Europe,” the publication writes, which refers to two unnamed officials – one American and one European.
According to sources, such an item is contained in the draft version of the communiqué, which will be published on the results of the NATO summit in Brussels on June 14.
According to Defense News, this measure is considered as a way to reduce tensions in relations with Russia and prepare the ground for the dialogue on arms control issues on the eve of the Summit of the Russian Federation-US on June 16 in Geneva.
