NATO does not strive to confront with Russia and is not a threat to it, said US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at a press conference in Riga following a meeting with his Latvian colleague artis Pobrix. The broadcast of the meeting was conducted on the website of the State Department.
“Let’s clarify: we are not looking for confrontation with Russia and do not pose a threat to it. Our position only reflects adherence to Article 5 (Washington Treaty – Ed.) – An attack on one NATO ally means an attack on everyone,” Austin noted.
