The leaders of the NATO countries at the Summit in Vilnius will make important decisions on many issues, including Ukraine.
The summit will be held on July 11-12 in the capital of Lithuania, 300 km from the Russian border.
The Summit will be attended by the heads of state and governments of 31 NATO members, representatives of the Candidate country to join the Alliance -Sweden, as well as the delegations of Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.
The participation of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is also expected.
One of the main topics of the NATO summit will be Ukraine. Participants in the summit will discuss issues of building support for Kyiv, modernizing the weapons of Soviet development, creating the NATO-Ukraine Council and guaranteeing security for this country.
It is expected that at the Summit of NATO countries a course will be confirmed to include Ukraine in NATO, as it was 15 years ago in Bucharest. At the same time, a clear schedule for the adoption of Kyiv in the military-political bloc will not be voiced.
Many NATO countries, including the United States, believe that Ukraine will not be able to join the Alliance until the bloody confrontation is completed with Russia.
Leaders will also share their opinions on the issue of increasing defense costs. In this regard, Vilnius is expected to appreciate the NATO action plan for the production of defense products.
