NATO refused to follow an agreement with Russia when deploying troops in eastern Europe

The fundamental act of Russia – NATO of 1997 will not restrain the Alliance from the expansion of the military presence in eastern Europe, said the chairman of the NATO Military Committee Rob Bauer, the British newspaper Financial Times.

“Act of NATO – Russia is still here. But its content will not restrain us during the implementation of our plans. At the moment, the general opinion at the political level is such that we do not kill [agreement], but it will not stop us from the necessary our part of the actions, ”TASS quoted him.

Bauer also claimed that in recent months he tried to contact the head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, but he did not succeed.
