The war in Ukraine is part of the critical phase, and the coming winter will be heavy. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in his article for Financial Times. His words are given by Ukrainian media.
Stoltenberg noted that in the winter it will be difficult for Ukraine, its army, and all those who support Kyiv.
“Unity and solidarity will be subjected to a serious test,” Stoltenberg believes, because Europeans will feel a sharp increase in energy prices and the cost of living. He added that Europe is waiting for heavy six months with the threat of turning off electricity, failures and, possibly, civil unrest. But, according to him, “you need to hold on to confront tyranny.”
Stoltenberg said that Europe and allies pay the price for supporting Ukraine, but this price “is considered in dollars, euros and pounds, and Ukrainians pay their lives.”
As the NATO Secretary General said, the allies are preparing more than a dozen new projects to help Ukraine survive the winter, and also continue to help strengthen the defense and security sector in the long run.
