NATO will conduct two -week nuclear exercises “Steadfast Noon” for nuclear deterrence of only 1000 km from Russian borders. They will begin on October 17 and end on October 30, the Alliance said on his website.
It is reported that the event is not connected with the war in Ukraine and was planned before it began. Also, the Alliance does not plan to use combat charges. “These are standard exercises, they allow you to make sure that our nuclear deterrence remains safe, reliable and effective,” said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
In the exercises, 60 aircraft of various types from 14 countries of the block are involved. In addition, the alliance involves fourth and fifth generations that can carry nuclear warheads, as well as strategic bombers of the United States B-52. Flights will take place over Belgium, the North Sea and Great Britain.
