President of Kazakhstan Kasym -Zhomart Tokaev signed the Law on the abolition of the Constitutional Law “On the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy”, Kazakhstani media reported.
January 11, the Constitutional Court of Kazakhstan decided to recognize the old law as lost. On January 13, the country’s parliament at a joint meeting of the chambers unanimously adopted the relevant law.
According to the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed by Tokayev Law, is deprived of the status of “Elbasy” and the associated privileges. At the same time, he retains immunity from responsibility for actions at the presidential post, his honor and dignity are inviolable.
The ex-president reunite a lifelong pension of 80% of the salary of the current president, as well as an apartment, cottage, security, personal car with drivers, free travel in the country, medical care and sanatorium-resort treatment.
