Nazarbayev’s family will lose right to inviolability of property

This was reported to reporters on Friday, Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Azamat Eskaraev.

“The law, which is now put on loss, provided for the guarantees of [inviolability] on property, the accounts of family members. These guarantees will be canceled in case of adoption of the law,” Eskaraev said, answering the question of whether the property of family members will be preserved by the property of the family members Nazarbayeva.

At the same time, all guarantees of immunity, including personal, for the ex-president of Kazakhstan, will be preserved. The Minister noted that in accordance with the current Law “On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the norms for social security, the protection of the ex-president, the provision of transport services and official housing are provided.

The parliament of Kazakhstan at a joint meeting of the chambers on January 13 recognized the law “On the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy”. The Law “On the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy” regulated the status and privileges of Nazarbayev, as well as members of his family. Nazarbayev belonged to the right to appeal to the people, to speak to the parliament and at government meetings. According to the law, the first president had inviolability, which extended to all property belonging to Nazarbayev on private property and his family members jointly living with him.
