Negotiations Teimur Musaev and Director of WHO European Bureau

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that President Ilham Aliyev took the Director of the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) Hans Klaj’s director of the European Regional Bureau.

Having greeted guests, Health Minister Teymur Musaev stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the World Health Organization. According to him, Baku works closely with the authoritative health organization since 1992, and this cooperation is developing on increasing: “Over the past 30 years, significant work has been done in the context of mutual cooperation, a number of projects on country, regional and global levels have been successfully implemented. In the early years Our independence, domestic health care faced certain difficulties. As a result of the far-sighted policy of the country’s leadership, the difficulties arising in the health sector were statenly overcome. One of the reliable partners who helped us in this was the World Health Organization. “

The Minister stressed the work carried out by Azerbaijan to combat COVID-19 in the country, as well as the assistance of the country and its initiatives in this context in the international plane: “The Global Contribution of Azerbaijan in the fight against Pandemic Coronavirus also highly appreciated the CEO of WHO Tedros Adan Gebresus “.

Teymur Musaev also noted the activity of the country office of the World Health Organization in the work on improving and modernizing national health.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Hans Klava emphasized the importance of primary health care to achieve global health care goals. Touching on the issue of Pandemic COVID-19, the Director of the WHO European Regional Office thanked the leadership of Azerbaijan for the humane steps to combat coronavirus infection at the global level.

Stressing the fruitful cooperation between WHO and Azerbaijan, Hans Kulve expressed support for reforms conducted in the Azerbaijan Health System: “The World Health Organization is ready to help digital health in Azerbaijan in every way.”

During the meeting, which took place in the spirit of mutual understanding, the parties also discussed issues on the implementation of future joint projects.
