Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his readiness to consider the role of an intermediary in a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine if he is offered such mediation. According to Netanyahu, he was offered such a role in the early stages of the war.
“I was asked about this in the early stages of the conflict in Ukraine,” Netanyahu said in an interview with CNN, without saying from whom such a proposal received.
According to him, he did not seek to be an intermediary of the conflicting parties, since the request was unofficial. “I said that there is a prime minister (naphthy Bennett), let him decide what to do with it. He tried and could not cope,” said the prime minister.
“If all interested parties ask me, of course, I will consider this proposal,” he added.
that Netanyahu could be an effective intermediary between Russia and Ukraine was previously said by the adviser to the head of the office of Ukrainian president Mikhail Podolyak, explaining this by the fact that the Israeli prime minister has an idea of modern wars and understands the role of intermediary.
