Netherlands refused to fulfill condition of Russia

The Gasterra Dutch gas trader will not comply with the requirements of the Russian Gazprom on the transition to a new fuel payment scheme, RBC reports with reference to the company’s statement.

The new conditions for the purchase of Russian gas in rubles can lead to a violation of sanctions introduced by the European Union, moreover, “there are too many financial and operational risks associated with the required payment option,” said Gasterra.

According to the company, the opening of accounts at the Russian bank and “Control over them from the Russian regime” represent too much risk.

Gasterra said that in response, Gazprom announced the termination of deliveries. “This means that from the present moment until October 1, 2022, the completion of the contract, the buyer will not receive about 2 billion cubic meters of gas,” the report said. The Netherlands company said they were ready for this.
