Neurologist Evgeny Sokov told in an interview with “arguments and facts”, which posture for sleep is most useful.
The doctor recommended to go to the right side and bend a little legs and hands. According to him, in this position, the heart will not experience the burden of squeezing with mediastia and light.
In addition, the juice called on to avoid sleep on the stomach, since in this position a person turns his head on the side, which leads to the twisting of the arteries and veins on the neck.
Medic also recommended less sleep on the back.
“When a person is with straightened hands and legs, then this is not quite physiologically. During sleep on the back, a relaxed language can shift to the back of the throat and seriously impede breathing,” he stressed.
Sokov noted that sleep on a too soft, thin or very high pillow or without it is also harmful. In all cases, pressure on the vessels occurs, which may worsens blood outflow from the head.
“The density and height of the pillow must be so to allow the cervical, lumbar, thoracic spine and head to be in the same plane,” said the expert.
The doctor concluded that sleep should last at least seven hours, regardless of whether it is or weekends. The ideal time for sleep, according to the specialist, is the interval from 10 pm to 6 in the morning.
