New Coronavirus mutations will be called names of constellations

The Technical Head of the World Health Organization for COVID-19 Maria Van Kerkhov said that if the letters of the Greek alphabet (only 24) would not be enough, then the WHO plans to use the name of the new strains of coronavirus the name of the constellations, reports the Telegraph.

“We probably do not have enough Greek alphabet, but we already consider the following series of titles,” said Wang Kerkhov.

WHO expert clarified that several systems were assumed to use new strains, but later it was decided to use the name of constellations.
