Turkey will continue to adhere to the concept of foreign policy based on national interests and with an eye on independence from any form of influence. This was stated by the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan at the ceremony of transferring powers of the head of the foreign policy on Monday in Ankara.
“As the head of state, I will make the maximum effort to protect and promote the interests of Turkey, the contribution, security and well -being of the country,” the minister assured.
He expressed joy to appointing the head of diplomacy on the post-year anniversary of the republic and in the 500th anniversary of the formation of the country’s foreign policy.
Fidan thanked Mevlut Chavushoglu for the “many years of weighty and hard work” as the Foreign Minister of Turkey.
