The new President of Greece Konstantinos Tasulas took the oath and took office.
Tasulas replaced his predecessor Katerina Sakelropulu in this post.
66-year-old Tasulas was elected to the president’s post by voting by a majority of 160 votes in the 300-seater House of Representatives on February 12.
Before running for the presidency, Tasulas was elected three times the speaker of the parliament.
Tasulas was forced to resign from the post of speaker of the parliament after the Prime Minister of Greece Kiriacocakotakis nominated him as a candidate for the presidency.
Tasulas, who studied law, began to take the first steps in politics in the 1990s, was elected member of the parliament in 2000.
