In the 2021-2022 academic year, for the first time in V classes, a new set of textbooks on the subject “Nature” was commissioned as a pilot project. The kit includes a textbook consisting of two parts, a workbook and a teacher manual.
The purpose of this project is integrated learning to natural sciences from an early age. Therefore, this tutorial is characterized in that it is designed using learning methods based on research, knowledge and skills on the main components of the lessons of natural sciences and includes practical tasks in physics, biology, chemistry and geography. In other words, it helps to study nature from four main annexes.
In the current school year, a new textbook as a pilot project is used so far only in 132 classes of the Azerbaijani sector. For high-quality teaching on a new program for teachers who teach in these classes, special trainings were organized by the Institute of Education. The purpose of training was to familiarize teachers with scientific foundations of the integrated content and structure of textbooks and assistance in the preparation of practical tasks in physics, biology, chemistry and geography.
Given the achievements of Singapore in the field of education, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan decided to implement this project in cooperation with the Alston publishing house (Singapore).
11 local specialists were drawn to the preparation of this set of textbooks. The Institute of Education, which implemented this project, organized a series of trainings from Alston publishing house for these authors. Alston Publishing House was also one of the editors of the textbook. When preparing a set of textbooks, the experience of leading countries in the field of education was studied, as well as the requirements of international education quality studies, such as Timss and Pisa.
After all, the main goal of modern education to prepare students for the 21st century, give them the necessary knowledge and skills that they will need in real life.
