Conducting a new cross-border operation of the Turkish Army in the north of Syria will allow Ankara to ensure control over the 600-kilometer section of the joint border and minimize terrorist threats coming from the adjacent territory, Türkiye reports with reference to military and diplomatic sources.
According to the publication, in places the operation will be carried out to a depth of 45 km and will allow 470 settlements in Syria. The publication notes that taking control of the telel-rifat and manbije regions will allow Turkey to create a 35-kilometer security strip and complete the strategic task, which was determined by the country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
