Reduced New Year holidays will increase productivity in the economy and will help GDP growth. The Minister of Economy Vaan Kerobyan stated this in the Armenian parliament, presenting a draft change in the law “On holidays and memorable dates”, according to which the New Year holidays are proposed.
Ministry of Economy offers to cut them until December 31 and January 1, as New Year’s holidays, as well as January 6, to celebrate as Christmas.
According to Kerobyan, the extra four days of work will allow you to create an additional amount of goods and services.
Earlier, the project was discussed in the government of Karena Karapetyan, in 2017, but the previous one such an attempt was failed at the same power.
