New York Times: USA and Russia lead secret negotiations

Despite the seemingly complete alienation between Russia and the United States, the parties continue to search for points of contact and spent a whole series of secret meetings at different levels, declares New York Times.

Gazeta writes that the administration of US President Byyden, apparently, decided to choose a more sober approach to relationships with the Kremlin. Since Biden and Putin personally met in Geneva in June of this year, representatives of the American administration flew three times to Moscow, a number of meetings were held at a neutral territory – in Finland and Switzerland. In particular, according to NYT, the parties are actively discussed by issues of arms control and in the field of cybersecurity.

The publication causes an example that a few weeks ago, the American side handed over Russia’s names of Russian hackers, mixed in cyberatics to objects in the United States. Their personalities were established by American intelligence, and now Washington is waiting for Vladimir Putin to take this test. After all, he himself spoke at a meeting with Biden, which would help in every possible way to combat cyberwordologies.

According to a high-ranking representative of the American administration, the views and intentions of Putin are extremely clear, but still in Washington believe that dialogue attempts are needed at least so that the tensions in relations between countries have not come out due to control.
