In Nigeria, according to the results of 2024, 10,937 militants were neutralized as part of the fight against terrorist organizations. This was announced at a briefing by the Director of the Ministry of Media of the Ministry of Defense of Nigeria Edward Buba.
He noted that in 2024 significant successes were achieved in the fight against terrorist organizations and members of armed gangs.
Last year, during operations carried out in different states of Nigeria, 10,937 terrorists were liquidated, ”Buba said.
According to him, the Nigerian military has significantly reduced the combat effectiveness of terrorists.
Last year, the Nigerian army surrendered 16 171 terrorist, in general, 12,538 people were detained. In addition, 7,063 people taken hostage in order to obtain a ransom were released, Buba noted.
The media director indicated that dozens of terrorist shelters were destroyed during operations, 8815 weapons, ammunition, as well as cash belonging to terrorists,
were destroyed.
