The representative of the executive branch in the village of Gazley Abdul Babaev told Haqqin.az that the girl graduated from 9 classes, she will be 16 years old at the end of June.
“The girl’s father died, the family is low -income. It seems that the financial situation of the family played a role in the early marriage of the child. The district executive branch, as well as the police department. Probably, the wedding will be canceled,” Babaev said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also commented on what happened. According to the chief inspector of the Shirvan regional group of the press service of the ministry, the senior lieutenant of the Nizam Hamidov, all necessary measures are being taken in the Saborybad district police department. The relevant government agencies have already been informed about this. The girl’s relatives were also called to the police department, where they were informed that the marriage was illegal.
