Nobel Prize For Medicine Was Awarded To American Scientists Viktor Embros And Gary Ravkan

Nobel Prize and Medicine Nobel Prize and Medicine in 2024 were American scientists Viktor Embros and Gary Ravkan.

The award was awarded for the “opening of the micrord and its role in the post-transcriptional regulation of genes,” the press conference at the Caroline Institute in Sweden said on Monday.

Scientists managed to open a new class of tiny RNA molecules that play a decisive role in the regulation of genes.

The breakthrough opening revealed a completely new principle of regulation of genes, which turned out to be very important for multicellular organisms, including people.

Who are Embros and Ravkan?

Victor Embros was born in 1953 in the American state of New Hampshire. In 1975 he graduated from the Massachusetts Technological Institute (MIT). In 1979 he received the degree of Doctor of Sciences at the same university.

Embrose has been working at the Medical Department of the Massachusetts Institute since 2008.

Gary Ravkan was born in California in 1952. In 1973 he graduated from undergraduate at the University of California in Berkeley. Ravkan received a doctoral degree at Harvard University for research “Genes of bacterial fixation of nitrogen.” Ravkan – Professor of Genetics of the Harvard Medical School.
