The Nobel Peace Prize for 2022 was awarded on Saturday. The ceremony at which the Norwegian royal family and members of the country’s government are present is traditionally held in the building of the town hall Oslo and is broadcast on the website of the Nobel Fund.
The chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Barit Raiss-Andersen, handed a gold medal and diploma to the Belarusian lawyer and activist Alesya Belyatsky, who was represented by his wife Natalya Pinchuk, as well as representatives of the Russian Center Memorial, which was liquidated by court decision, and the Ukrainian Civil Freedoms Center Janan Rachinsky and Alexander Matviychuk.
Laureates were awarded awards for the “representation of civil society in their countries.”
