Northern Macedonia in addition to the Soviet T-72 tanks transferred four Su-25 military aircraft to the Ukrainian army. This was reported by the local edition of MKD with reference to the country’s Ministry of Defense.
Interestingly, these planes (three single and one double) bought from Ukraine during a conflict in the territory of the state in 2001 for 4 million euros. Aircraft are designed to directly support the infantry, and during the conflict they made several sorties in support of the ground actions of the Macedonian security forces.
In the media, the decision on the transfer of the Su-25 of the Ukrainian army was explained by the fact that during the formation of the Law of the country in 2003, the need for them has disappeared, and since then they have been assigned to storage bases.
