Norway opened a new oil and gas field in Barents Sea

Norwegian extracting company Equinor (former Statoil) opened a new oil and gas deposit in the Yukhan Castberg area in the Barents Sea, according to the company’s website.

“drilling work was carried out safely and efficiently. The new deposit will be studied together with our partners, we will also consider the further development of this area of ​​prey,” said Equinor vice -president for reconnaissance and extraction of Krestin, which TASS quoted.

According to the company, the new field contains 5-10 million barrels of oil. The volume of gas in the field is not reported.
