Nuclear bombers of Russia near border of Norway

Russia transferred strategic bombers to the border with Norway. Aircraft capable of carrying nuclear charges were seen at the Deer Military base on the Kola Peninsula, according to the Norwegian edition Faktisk.

A satellite picture for October 7 showed that there were seven Tu-160 bombers on the basis of deer and four Tu-95. And two days later, Planet Labs recorded one Tu-160 on the runway of the air base.

Experts surveyed by the military believe that such maneuvers can be associated with the traditional autumn exercises “Thunder”. But analysts admit that this may be an element of nuclear threats of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The latest Russian nuclear exercises “Thunder” took place in February 2022, on the eve of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
