Founder and Chief Executive Director (CEO) of Telegram, Pavel Durov, said that the number of monthly active users of the application exceeded 1 billion.
In a written statement, Durov cited information about the use of Telegram.
Having stated that each user spends on average 41 minutes a day, Durov said that last year the application brought a profit of $ 547 million.
He noted that the number of monthly active users Telegram exceeded 1 billion: “Except for Chinese WeChat, we became the second most popular application for exchange in the world after WhatsApp.”
“WhatsApp is a cheap, emasculated imitation of Telegram. For many years they desperately tried to copy our innovations by spending billions of dollars on lobbying and PR to slow down our development. They did not have it. Telegram grew up, became profitable and retained their independence, unlike our competitor,” said Pavel Durov.
