In the first three months of this year, the number of complaints about animal bites decreased by 4% compared to the same period last year. This, answering the question of Haqqin.az, said the head of the Department of Particularly dangerous infections of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health Jayran Dzhafarov during the direct broadcast on the ministry page on Instagram.
Jafarova noted that in the first quarter of this year, 7051 people were bitten by animals. This is 4% less than last year.
“out of 7051, 5-6 thousand appeals are bite of dogs. 672 cases of scratches from cats were recorded. Other cases are associated with bites of mice and other animals, for example, cows. Most of the bites are older than 18 years old,” the head said Center.
According to her, they bite children, most often due to the naivety of the latter. Men are bitten mainly in cattle -breeding areas and villages.
Books of wild animals, including deaths from rabies, are not registered in the first quarter of this year. Nevertheless, Jafarova recalled that owners of pets should regularly take their pets for a veterinary inspection. Animals also need to vaccinate from time to time.
