Number Of Dead From Beginning Of Year In Nigeria From Lass’s Fever Has Increased To 80

The number of dead from the beginning of the year in Nigeria from Lass’s fever has increased to 80. This is stated in the message of the Nigerian Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases (NCDC).

According to the center, since the beginning of the year, the outbreak of Lass’s fever has covered 63 regions in 11 states.

It is noted that in the period from February 3 to 9, in 8 states of the country, another 54 cases of Lass fever were revealed, 10 of which ended in death.

Thus, the total number of cases of Lass’s fever detected this year increased to 413, and the number of dead from this disease is to 80.

Thus, the mortality rate from the fever of Lass increased to 19.4 percent versus 17.5 percent over the same period in 2024.

Last year, the Lass’s fever took the lives of 190 people throughout the country.

Lass fever is transmitted through contacts with feces of rats and mice. This dangerous disease has the ability to be transmitted from a person to a person and can lead to deaths.
