In the first two months of this year, passenger traffic at Istanbul and Sabiha Gokchenu increased by 834,050 people, reaching 19 016,433 people.
According to the data collected by the Anadol, based on the information of the Main Directorate of State Airports of Turkey (DHMİ), the number of passengers served by Istanbul airports in January and February exceeded 2024 indicators.
So, at the Istanbul airport for the specified period, 12,26,595 passengers were served, of which 2,318,780 traveled internal flights, and 9,807,815 – international.
Last year, over the same period, the passenger flow amounted to 11,837,462 people, which means an increase by 289 133 passengers or 2.4 % compared to 2024.
At Sabihi Airport, Gokchen in January and February of the current year, 6,889,838 passengers were served: 2 863 078 on internal flights and 4 026 760 on international ones. This is 544,917 more than the same period last year, which corresponds to growth by 9 %.
In general, in two months of 2025, Istanbul airports served 5,1858 passengers of domestic flights and 13,834,575 international, which is 834,050 people more than in 2024. Growth was 5 %.
Together with the passenger flow, the number of flights also increased.
In the first two months of the year, Istanbul A was completed at the Airport of 79,745 flights, which is 666 more than during the same period of last year.
At Sabihi Airport, Gokchen over the same period, the number of flights reached 39,983, increasing by 2,094 (6 %).
At the Ataturka Airport in January and February, 4,182 flights were executed, which is 87 less than a year earlier.
The total number of flights at all airports of Istanbul in two months amounted to 123,910, increasing by 2,673 compared to last year.
