The number of pilots in Turkey according to the results of 2023 increased by 6 percent compared to the previous year, to 14,884 people. This was reported by “Anadolu” with reference to the data of the Main Directorate of Civil Aviation of Turkey (SHGM).
In 2022, this indicator was 14 055.
At the same time, the share of foreign pilots in the total number of pilots amounted to 4.2 percent (518 people).
SHGM notes that thanks to the reforms carried out since 2003, the Aviation sphere in Turkey began to develop rapidly.
The sphere continues to develop due to the growth of investments in infrastructure and navy, an increase in the number of directions and regulation of prices for flights.
In 2003, about 65 thousand people were employed in the field of Turkey aviation, by the end of 2022 their number reached 262,925 people.
As of the end of 2023, the Turkish civil aviation Park amounted to 1856 air vehicles, including 668 aircraft, 207 airy taxis, 524 general -purpose airlines, 431 balloons and 26 ultra -light aircraft.
