Number of Turkish citizens who returned from Sudan reached 684

The number of citizens delivered to Turkey from Sudan reached 684 people, another 738 citizens are on the way to Addis Abube, reports diplomatic sources in Ankara.

The Turkish authorities continue to evacuate citizens against the backdrop of an armed conflict on April 15 between the units of the Sudanese army and the quick response forces (SBR).

Citizens of Turkey who have served from Sudan and located on the way to Addis Abube will be delivered to their homeland by aircraft.

The first aircraft with 176 citizens and the second aircraft with 305 passengers on board have already landed in Turkey. The arrival of the third aircraft with 203 passengers is expected soon.

At the moment, there are no Turkish citizens awaiting evacuation at Addis Ababy Airport. The process of evacuation of Turkish citizens from Sudan is organized by buses to Ethiopia and further by air transport to Istanbul.

Disagreements regarding the reform of military security, which provides for the complete integration of the SBR into the armed forces, resulted in a hot conflict between two power structures.

The Foreign Ministry of Sudan reported that the commander of the Republican Army of Sudan Abdelfattah al-Burkhan decided to dissolve the SBR and declared them as rebels.
