The number of methane who died as a result of a methane explosion in a coal mine in the province of South Khorasan in the east of Iran increased to 38 people.
As the Governor of South Khorasan Jevad Canias told Iranian State Television, the explosion occurred at a mine in the Tybes area the day before.
“The number of victims of the explosion at the coal mine increased to 38 people. Work continues to save 14 miners,” he said.
According to the Iranian official, the presence of gas in the mine negatively affects the search and rescue operations.
It was reported that the explosion of methane occurred last night on two blocks of the coal mine in the Tybes area of the South Khorasan province in the east of the country.
