In Odessa, a monument to the “founders of Odessa” was closed with a wooden fence, the central figure of which is the sculpture of Empress Catherine II. They put a black package on the monument itself and wrapped with tape, BBC reports.
An announcement appeared on the fence about the beginning of preparatory work to dismantle the monument and transfer the sculptural composition.
On the eve of Odessa, an electronic survey ended, in which residents were invited to decide the fate of the monument. According to its results, the majority (3,914 people) voted to ensure that the monument was completely dismantled. Now the question of the fate of the monument will be brought to the vote of the deputies of the City Council of Odessa.
