OII will send special delegation to EU Commission in connection with stakes of burning Qur’an

The organization of Islamic cooperation (OIS) intends to send a special delegation to the EU Commission in connection with the ongoing incidents in the desecration of the Holy Quran in the Scandinavian countries.

This is stated in a joint statement following an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Foreign Ministry of the Foreign Ministry in the format of the video conference.

The statement says that the OIS countries decisively condemn the provocations with the desecration of the Holy Koran in Denmark and Sweden.

The Council of Ministers calls on the international community to take measures to prevent the desecration of sacred books, including the Koran, the statement said.

OIS decided to send a delegation to the EU Commission to take measures to prevent the repetition of such actions under the pretext of “freedom of speech.”

OIS countries also called on the world community to revise relations with countries where incidents with the burning of the Qur’an took place and take the desired position.

The statement called on Islamic countries to take the necessary political steps, including withdrawing their ambassadors in Sweden and Denmark for consultations.

The final statement also called for the next meeting of the OIS Executive Council on Islamophobia to evaluate provocations against Muslims and sacred attributes.
