OIS condemned burning of Qur’an in Denmark

The organization of Islamic cooperation (OIS) resolutely condemned the action to desecrate the Koran in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen.

“We most decisively condemn the public desecration of the Holy Koran, which took place in Denmark the day before,” the OIS Geneva Office said on Twitter.

The organization noted that the aiding of the Islamofobsky shares and inaction under the pretext of ensuring the right to expression contributes to the impunity of the organizers of such provocations.

In the OIS, Denmark authorities called for compliance with their obligations under international law.

The organization also reminded the Danish authorities of the need to fulfill the resolution of the UN Human Rights Council to combat religious hatred.

On the eve of Copenhagen, an action was held in front of the building of the Iraq embassy to burn a copy of the Qur’an.

The provocation was organized by members of the anti -Islamic and ultranationalistic marginal group “Danske Patrioter” (“Danish patriots”).
