The number of Turkish athletes who received quotas to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris increased to 89.
According to an anadol correspondent, the opening ceremony of the Olympics – 2024 in Paris will be held on Friday, July 26, at 22:00 Turkish time. The venue of the event was chosen by the Hena river. The XXXII Summer Olympiad will be held in France in the third time. The capital of France hosted such competitions in 1900 and 1924. Along with 29 sports, the –2024 Olympic Games program also includes Break Dance, climbing and surfing.
Today, 89 Turkish athletes have received quotas for participation in the Olympic Games in Paris. Turkish athletes will fight for medals in 18 sports, including shooting, light and heavy athletics, badminton, cycling, boxing, sports gymnastics, fencing, struggle, judo, rowing, table tennis, modern pentathlon, firing from Luke, Taekwondo, Sailing sport, swimming and volleyball.
According to the list published on the website of the National Olympic Committee of Turkey and updated on June 29, Turkey will guarantee participation in the Olympic Games in Paris with the participation of 89 athletes.
Athletes who conquer medals at the Olympic Games will be able to take a piece of Paris with them.
It is reported that each of the medals will contain 18 grams of iron from the design of the Eiffel Tower. Medals minted for competitions in Paris, from one of the sides will be decorated with a piece of iron in the form of a hexagon from fragments of the original design of the Eiffel Tower, which after repair work were stored in the warehouse.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status. Within the framework of the Olympic Games, a flag, anthem, color or any other symbols of Russia and Belarus will not be used. In addition, the Russian and Belarusian athletes will be applied common to all requirements regarding the fight against doping. None of the officials and sports officials of Russia and Belarus will be invited to the Olympics. Athletes who actively support the war against Ukraine will not be allowed to participate in the Olympics -2024.
