Olympic fire relay, on the eve of the Games-2024, reached the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the torch was delivered to the upper step of the palace of festivals and congresses.
The delegation of French athletes appeared on the red carpet with the Olympic torch before showing the film “Marcello Mio” by Christophe Honore as part of the 77th Cannes Film Festival in France.
Passing along the red carpet, French athletes Arno Assumani, Alexis Hanquincant, Nelia Barbosa and Marie Patuay held a torch in their hands.
Among those who carried Olympic fire at the festival were also former athletes of Marie-Jose Peret and Iliana Rupert.
Participants in the relay rallied in tuxedos and evening dresses passed the torch to each other until they were on the porch in front of the entrance.
The French delegation was accompanied by the president of the Organizational Committee of the Paris Olympiad-2024 Tony Estange and former athlete Thierry Re.
Olympic fire was delivered to France from Greece on May 8 to the old port of Marseille, from where the Olympic fire relay started in the republic. It will last more than two months and end with lighting of fire at the opening ceremony of games on July 26.
During this time, Olympic fire will visit more than 400 cities. The Olympic Games in France will be held from July 26 to August 11.
