On fourth unit of Akku NPP, foundation plate of reactor building was concreted

On the site of the structure of the fourth power unit of Akku NPP, concreting the foundation plate of the reactor building was completed. The end of the important stage of construction allows you to proceed to the construction of the walls of the reactor mine, where the melt localization device (“melt trap) will be installed, the press service of AKKUKO Nuclear reports.

For the foundation of the blocks of the nuclear power plant, a special concrete mixture of high quality is used. The composition of concrete includes stone materials of natural origin – crushed stone and sand, which are mined directly on the construction site of Akkui NPP.

All the technological path of manufacturing a concrete mixture is monitoring its parameters. The characteristics of concrete are checked, for example, the temperature, the precipitate of the cone, the density. Each batch of concrete mixing takes place a number of laboratory control operations on the site of the construction of Akkui NPP.

To ensure the maximum strength of the plate in the foundation of the reactor building, 3.5 thousand tons of reinforcement and 17.5 thousand cubic meters of concrete mixture were laid. For comparison – this volume of concrete would be enough to create a site with 10 football fields 1 meter high.
