On Fuselage Of Azal Aircraft, Which Crashed Under Aktau, Many Extraneous Items Were Discovered

In the preliminary report on the investigation of the crash of the passenger aircraft of the Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL), which broke up on December 25, 2024 near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, it is reported that many extraneous objects were discovered on the plane.

In the 53-page report published by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, it is noted that during the initial examination of the debris, numerous open and closed damage to various sizes and forms on the tail, stabilizer and steering wheel.

The report says that similar damage is available on the left engine and left wing of the aircraft, as well as on the components of the aircraft: “In some places the damage has the correct rectangular shape.”

Further from the report follows:

“proven that hydraulic systems were damaged due to the entry of foreign objects into the components of the aircraft before the aircraft fell to the ground. This damage led to the loss of hydraulic fluid and pressure in the plane.”

The report emphasizes that the aircraft stabilizer control cables were also damaged, possibly by extraneous objects: “Damage to the aircraft indicates that external objects have penetrated the design of the aircraft. Most of the open damage is located on the wing and stabilizer of the aircraft.”

According to the report, a large number of foreign objects were extracted from the parts of the aircraft.
